Brilliant bit of kit. I'm a sparky and usually use a Fluke, but needed a backup. This wire locator traces ring mains through plasterboard just as well for a fraction of the price. The LCD screen is a massive plus in dark lofts.
Perfect network cable locator. I do a lot of office refits and tracing old RJ45 cables in false ceilings is a nightmare. The tone generator on this is loud and clear. Paid for itself on the first job.
Bought this to find a break in the boundary wire for my robot lawnmower. Hooked it up to an earth stake and found the exact spot where the wire had snapped within 10 minutes. Super easy to use, even for a DIYer.
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Traces cables accurately and the voltage detection is spot on. Only giving 4 stars because the battery compartment cover is a bit stiff to get off the first time, but otherwise excellent value.
I was hesitant to buy a non-premium brand for site work, but this cable finder tool is fantastic. It feels robust, the carry case is handy, and it found a short circuit under a floorboard that had been driving me mad.

Arrived next day as promised. Used it to map out the electrical runs in a 1970s house before knocking a wall down. Picked up everything perfectly. The crocodile clips could be a tiny bit larger, but they do the job fine.
